iPhone / iPad Configuration Guide

Method 1: Automatic Setup

1. Download the Vest configuration settings

Before starting, make sure you are using the Safari browser and not Chrome (if it is installed)

From your iPhone or iPad choose one or all of the links below by clicking on the 'Configure' link below and following instructions on your device screen:

Safe Protection
For anonymous browsing and website unlocking. Includes encryption and anonymous IP address.
Safer Protection
For anonymous browsing, internet banking and WiFi hotspot surfing. Includes encryption, anonymous IP address, ad filtering and third party tracking blocker.
Safest Protection
For anonymous browsing and families. Includes encryption, anonymous IP address, ad filtering, third party tracking blocker and cyber nanny to block adult content.

2. Profile prompt

You'll see an 'Install Profile' screen appear. Click the 'Install' button.

3. Install the profile

When prompted click the 'Install Now' link.

4. Enter your passcode (if you set one)

Enter your device's passcode when prompted (this is the code you type into your iPhone or iPad when you switch it on). You may not be asked for this if you do not have a passcode set.

5. Enter your user ID and password

You will require the user ID that has been emailed to you, and the password that you specified when you created your Vest connection voucher.

7. Connect

In the 'VPN' section within 'Settings' > 'General', ensure that the VPN slider is set to on. You'll always know you're connected because you'll see a little 'VPN' icon in the top bar of your device. If you don't see the 'VPN' icon in the top bar, then you're not connected and you are not being protected.

8. Reconnecting to Vest

When you switch networks or turn your device off and on, reconnect to Vest by tapping 'Settings' then ensure the VPN slider is set to on.

Method 2: Manual Setup

1. Go to 'Settings' on your device

Tap on the 'Settings' icon on your device, then scroll down to 'General'. Tap on 'General'.

2. Go to 'VPN' within the 'General' menu

Once you are in the 'General' section, tap on the VPN option, you may need to scroll down to find this option.

3. Add a VPN configuration

When you enter the 'VPN' section, you will see an option to 'Add VPN Configuration', so go ahead and select that option.

4. Fill in the blanks

Firstly, tap the 'L2TP' option, in blue at the top of the screen. Then, type VestVPN in the 'Description' box. In the server box type one of the three server options listed below, depending on the security level you require:

In the account box, enter your unique user ID (it will have been sent to you in an email and it is made up of a mixture of random letters and numbers). Lastly, in the 'Secret' box, type: vestvpn. Finally, tap the 'Save' option in the top right corner of the screen.

5. Connect

In the 'VPN' section within 'Settings' > 'General', ensure that the VPN slider is set to on. You'll always know you're connected because you'll see a little 'VPN' icon in the top bar of your device. If you don't see the 'VPN' icon in the top bar, then you're not connected and you are not being protected.
